    • Martha "Mattie" M. Manwaring Woodruff - October 10, 1858 - October 18, 1933. Daughter of Joseph Elias Adams and Amelia L. Jenne Manwaring. Wife of Herbert A. Woodruff. Section 5, Row 29.
Newspaper Obituary - October 25, 1933 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - News of the passing of Mrs. Mattie Manwaring Woodruff, wife of Herbert A. Woodruff, at her home on Park street, last Wednesday shortly after noon, came as a shock to a large circle of friends in this village and vicinity. While her health had not been the best for many weeks, she had not been considered seriously ill but a few days, and many of her friends had hardly heard of her sickness. Born in this town near Daysville October 10, 1858, daughter of Elias and Amelia Jenne Manwaring, Mrs. Woodruff spent a long and active life in this vicinity. On April 24, 1877 she was married to Herbert A. Woodruff, who survives her, and, with the exception of five years that the couple spent in Montana in the early 1890's, and a few recent winters in Florida, their home has been in Pulaski and vicinity. She and her husband were pioneers in the development of Pine Grove Beach as a summer resort, and they made many friends among the people who came there for their vacations. She was a member of the local Methodist church and had long been prominent in its activities, identifying herself with the Ladies Aid society and the Maunder Bible class of that church. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her passing a sister, Mrs. Mary Sherman of Greenville, Pennsylvania, and two nephews, John A. Lifts, N. Y. C. station agent at Camden, New York, and Fred Lifts of Port Ontario; a niece, Mrs. Ella Lifts Kneller of Syracuse; and a brother-in-law, Edward M. Woodruff of Providence, Rhode Island. The funeral was held from the home Friday afternoon with the Rev. John W. Warren, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Daysville cemetery.
