Mrs. Laura Grace Potter Walton, 77, wife of Frank J. Walton, died September 11, 1952 at her home near Watertown. Her funeral was held Saturday afternoon, burial being in Woodlawn cemetery, Sandy Creek.

She was born in Orwell June 9, 1875, a daughter of the late J. Grant Potter and Corsanda C. Shumway Potter. She attended the Sandy Creek High school in the early 1890's and afterwards taught in rural schools in the Sandy Creek area. She left the teaching profession and entered the employ of the Cornwall Hutchins drygoods store in Pulaski in 1901.

      Married at Orwell

October 28, 1903 she was married at the Potter farm at Orwell to Frank J. Walton, the ceremony being performed by Rev. T.T. Davies, the pastor of the Sandy Creek and Orwell Congregational churches. After their marriage they lived in Depauville, where Mr. Walton owned and operated a general store and for a time served as postmaster. Later they lived in Boston, Mass. and from 1912 to 1922 in Pulaski, where Mr. Walton owned and conducted a store. In 1922 the Waltons sold the Pulaski store and bought a farm near Watertown.

Mrs. Walton was a member of the Asbury Methodist church and took a great interest in all the church activities. She is survived by her husband, who is head of the agricultural department at the Northern New York Trust Company, one son, Lawson G. Walton, Watertown, and two grandchildren.
