- Newspaper Obituary - August 24, 1998 Syracuse Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - SEYMOUR C. BRITTON - Seymour C. Britton, 77, of Route 31, Lakeport, died Sunday at home. Born in Williamstown, he lived in various Central New York locations before moving to Lakeport in 1959. He worked at a number of dairy and produce farms throughout Central New York and retired in 1983 from the Sky-High Farm, Lakeport. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Bridgeport. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife, the former Ella C. Hellinger; three daughters, Catherine Brown of Cuyler, Madeline Kelly of Belton, Texas, and Patricia Burke of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; two sons, Carleton S. of San Diego and Charles H. of Chittenango; five sisters, Wilmina White of Redfield, Viola Mowers of Richland, Ada Bulson of Brewerton and Jane Wheeler and Rosella Peck, both of Altmar; two brothers, Fay of Chittenango and Robert "Pete" of Redfield; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at J. Homer Ball Funeral Home. Burial, Oneida Lake Cemetery, Messenger Bay. Calling hours, 6 to8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 201 James St., Canastota.
