- Newspaper Obituary - June 27, 1994 Syracuse Herald Journal - Donald W. Allen, 70, of East Mudmill Road, Brewerton, died Sunday at his home after a long illness. A native of Fulton, Mr. Allen resided in Phoenix for 16 years before moving to Brewerton in 1972. He retired in 1979 after 28 years as a steam fitter with the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union Local 267, Syracuse. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kalinin Bay in the Pacific theater. He was a former member of the Riverside Country Club in Brewerton. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Eleanor "Skip"; a daughter, Connie L. Jarrett of Pennellville; three sons, Donald R. Sr. of Sandy Creek, Barry L. of Parish and Kevin C. Sr. of Pennellville; a sister, Freda Mascoto of North Syracuse; two brothers, Albert of Fulton and Harry of Phoenix; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Krueger Brewerton Chapel with the Rev. Mark Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Phoenix Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 9525 S. Main St., Brewerton. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Central New York.
