- Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday November 5, 1986 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Anton Evanchik, 65, a resident of 7242 Salina Street, died Sunday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. Mr. Evanchik was born in New York City and had resided in Plainview prior to moving to Pulaski in 1983. He was employed with Kuffman Instrument Company in Elmhurst until 1975. Mr. Evanchik was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. Following his discharge he served in the Naval Reserve at Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn, until 1976. Mr. Evanchik was a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5942, Plainview, and was a member of the Naval Reserve Enlisted Association. He was also active in the Boy Scouts of America. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his mother, Natalie of Woodside; three sons, Michael A., of Colorado Springs, Colorado; William C. of New Haven, and Stephen B. of Oswego; a daughter, Barbara J. of Syracuse; two sisters, Mary Uravie of Brooklyn and Ligra Wrest of Woodside, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Foster Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 7385 Park Street. Contributions may be made to NOCA or to the American Heart Association, Oswego County Unit.
