Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, March 5, 1983 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Services for Walter A. Erskine, 99, of 7669 North Street, Pulaski, who died Thursday at Oswego Hospital after a brief illness, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, the Rev. Earl Smith officiating. Spring burial will be in South Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 7385 Park Street, Pulaski. Mr. Erskine was born in Fernwood. He was valedictorian of the Pulaski Academy class of 1901 and graduated from Syracuse University in 1907. He was employed in Washington by the federal Special Services department, retiring in 1963. While in Washington, he was a violinist with the Gault String Ensemble. He returned to Pulaski in 1977. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church. He was a 75-year member of a Masonic Lodge in Washington. His wife, the former Grace Williams, died in 1955. Surviving is a niece, Mrs. E. Louisa Chumney of Pulaski.
