- Newspaper Obituary - November 10, 1976 Sandy Creek News - Vivian Chatterton, Age 55, Succumbs - Mrs. Vivian L. Chatterton, 55 Mannsville R.D., wife of Warren Chatterton, died Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, after a brief illness. The funeral will be 1pm Wednesday at the Summerville Funeral Home, with Rev. Virgil Hager, pastor of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Keith and Roger, both of Sandy Creek; two daughters, Mrs. Sally Stevens, Orwell, and Miss Cathy Chatterton, Mattydale; 11 grandchildren; her father, H. Lee Weaver, Sandy Creek; two brothers, Malcom Weaver, Orlando Fla., and Robert Weaver, Mexico; six sisters, Mrs. Madolyn Ridgeway, Syracuse, Mrs. Marjorie Bailey, Cape Vincent, Mrs. Evelyn Morton, Mexico, Mrs. Helen Adams, Liverpool, Mrs. Betty Kimball, Sandy Creek, and Mrs. Connie Chapman, Erie, Pa; nieces and nephews. A brother, Donald, was killed in a 1959 car accident. She was born Sept 29, 1921 at Sandy Creek, daughter of H. Lee and Eliza Stewart Weaver, and was educated in local schools. She was a life resident of the Sandy Creek Mannsville region and was formerly employed by the Blount Parker Corp. She married Warren Chatterton, Nov 23, 1939, at Sandy Creek. Mrs. Chatterton was a member of Sandy Creek Grange 127, where she served on the S and H committee and was Junior Grange matron, a member of the Oswego Pomona Grange, where she served as Flora, and a member of the state and national Granges. She was also a member of Lake Ontario chapter OES where she previously held the office of Electa, and of Sandy Creek Baptist Church.
