      Newspaper Obituary - November 6, 1952 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Lewis Schumaker Dies in Watertown - Lewis Schumaker, 74, a resident of Mannsville R.F.D., died November 4, 1952 in the House of the Good Samaritan in Watertown where he had been a, patient for the past two months. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Weston & Woodard funeral parlors in Sandy Creek, Walter W. Hall, minister for the Jehovah Witness church of Watertown, officiating. Burial will be in Daysville cemetery near Pulaski. Mr. Schumaker was born August 18, 1878 at Fish Creek, the son of Joseph Schumaker and Elizabeth Grimes Schumaker. His early life was spent in Boylston and he was married there January. 7, 1900 to Mertie Rowe. Her death occurred on January 18, 1941. He is survived by four daughters and three sons, Mrs. Ruth Butler of Mannsville R.F.D., Mrs. Agnes Gill Mannsville R.F.D., Mrs. Lurita Walker of Rochester and Mrs. Lillian Edwards of Oswego; George Schumaker of Rochester; William Schumaker of Altmar and Lewis Schumaker Jr. of Jordan; a sister, Mrs. Mary Greender of Utica, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Schumaker was a farmer and was a member of Mexico Grange.
