    • Gladys Mae Fox Benedict - May 15, 1900 - March 24, 1968. Daughter of Seymour J. and Cora A. Filkins Fox. Wife of Walter Goddard Benedict. Married September 20, 1922, divorced. [Note: Walter Benedict died June 2, 1982 at Syracuse, New York and is buried in Collamer Cemetery at Dewitt, Onondaga County, New York.]

      Newspaper Obituary - Monday, March 25, 1968 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Mrs. Gladys M. Benedict, 67, of 7550 Maple Avenue, died early Sunday morning in a Houston, Texas hospital. She had resided with her daughter, Mrs. Beverly McAvoy, in Houston since last September. Mrs. Benedict was born in Pulaski, May 15, 1900, daughter of Seymour and Cora Filkins Fox. For many years she had worked for the Pulaski Democrat, local weekly newspaper, retiring due to ill health two years ago. She was a member of Park Methodist church and its Alpha Class, the Pulaski Chapter DAR, the Pulaski Home Bureau and the Riverside cemetery association. Surviving besides Mrs. McAvoy are three other daughters, Mrs. Hazen Finen of Tampa, Florida, Mrs. Marlyn Petrucelli of West Carthage and Mrs. Emme Dolan of Silver Springs, Maryland; five grandchildren and a brother, Jay B. Fox, Tacoma, Washington. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Park Methodist church by the Rev. Nelson Reppert, pastor. Burial will be later in Riverside cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
