Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, November 3, 1960 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Mrs. Grace Ruth Hort, wife of Arby Hort, died early this morning at her residence, 213 East Ninth Street, after a year's illness. Born in Dalton, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late John and Lucinda Colvin Adams and had resided for a number of years in Pulaski. She was a graduate of Pulaski Academy and the Oswego Normal school and taught in Eastwood for three years. During World War II, Mrs. Hort taught at the Refugee school at Fort Ontario. She was a member of Christ Church, [cannot read] Court, 90, Order of Amaranth, Lake City Chapter 352, Order of Eastern Star, Oswego, and Rising Sun Rebekah Lodge, Pulaski. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Lucille) Neild and Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Strong, Sault St. Marie, Michigan; a son, Ensign John A. Hort at Purdue University; a sister, Mrs. Owen McNett, Pulaski, and a brother Elwyn Adams, Ogdensburg, New York. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in Meade Memorial Chapel, Christ Church, with the Rev. John R. Scarlett officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Pulaski. Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home, 134 East Fourth Street, on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
