      Merton H. "Stubbie" Gregory

      Merton H. "Stubbie" Gregory, age 79, life resident of Pulaski, died Wednesday at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse. Merton was born January 3, 1930 in Pulaski, the son of Merton L. and Leah Dawley Gregory. He attended Pulaski schools. He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. Merton married Norma Gayne on June 29, 1957. He owned and operated Stubbie's Debris Service from 1963 to 1989. He was a former member of the Ringgold Fire Department, Pulaski from 1961 to 1983.

      Surviving: wife, Norma; two sons, Brian (Barbara) Gregory and Scott (Sue) Gregory both of Altmar; two brothers, Ralph Gregory of Pineville and Gordon Gregory of Oswego; one sister, Shirley Killam of Pulaski; one granddaughter, Bethany Gregory; one grandson, William Hallock; and two great-grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Pulaski. Calling hours will be held from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral.
