    • October 18, 1887 ~ Samuel Mahaffy, age 83, Married, Mechanic, born in Ireland, resident of Richland Township for 50 years, died in Pulaski of a feeble heart and old age.

      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 20, 1887 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - In Pulaski October 18, 1887, Samuel Mahaffy, aged 83 years. Mr. Mahaffy moved to this village about 50 years since. Mr. Mahaffy was a quiet, peaceable citizen, highly respected by all who knew him. His wife and six children survive him. One son, Samuel Jr., died in the Army. The funeral will be held to-day, Wednesday, at three o’clock p.m., from the residence of his son, David C. Mahaffy. Rev. William Watson of Ilion will conduct the services.
