- VanAlstyne Funeral Is Held Monday
Funeral services for Byron Edward VanAlstyne, 66, retired paper mill worker, of Dexter, were held at the Johnson Funeral parlors in that village Monday at 1 p. m., with Rev. Paul A. Roy, pastor of the Dexter M. E. church, officiating. Burial was made at Sandy Creek.
Mr. VanAlstyne died February 9 in Mercy hospital, Watertown, where he had been under teatment since January 13 for a lung condition. He had been ill for about three months.
Mr. VanAlstyne was born at St. Lawrence Corners, July 7, 1871, a son of William W. and Mary Haythorpe VanAlstyne. For several years he resided in Sandy Creek. In 1901 he married Mrs. Ellen Harris Tyler at Sandy Creek.
Mr. and Mrs. VanAlstyne moved to the vicinity of Dexter 21 years ago and Mrs. Van Alstyne died there 17 years. Mr. VanAlstyne for several years was employed by the Warren Parchment company.
He had been spending the winter at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Emory Timmerman, at Pillar Point.
