    • Newspaper Obituary - Apr. 24, 2012 Syracuse Post Standard - Joan G. Morrison - Obituary - April 21, 2012 - Joan Graham Morrison, 85, of Oswego, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego. Her four children were by her side. Joan was born in Lowville, NY on February 16, 1927, to the late David R. and Marion (Hubbs) Graham. She spent her younger years living in Lowville, before moving to Oswego. Through the years, Joan spent her winters in Oswego, and her summers at her home on Brantingham Lake in the Adirondacks. Joan was very active in Oswego. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Boards of Directors at St. Luke Health Services, and at Riverside Cemetery. She had formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Oswego Hospital, and was the first woman to hold the office of president of that organization. She had also been active in AAUW, Winter Club, Oswego County Hospice, the Oswego Children's Board, and many other organizations throughout the years. She was a life member of the Oswego Country Club. Joan was a 1945 graduate of Oswego High School, a 1947 graduate of Penn Hall Junior College, and a 1948 graduate of Syracuse University. Joan and her husband, Clark Morrison III, were married on December 20, 1948 in Oswego. Clark passed away on June 26, 2006. She is survived by her four children, Clark (Cecily) Morrison IV, of Oswego, Nancy Morrison (Charles) Zysk of Baldwinsville, Graham McM. (Kathy) Morrison of Carpentersville, Illinois, and David J. (Tamara) Morrison of Eagle, Colorado. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy G. Schneider of Ocala, Florida; six grandchildren, who knew her as Ninie, Christopher Zysk of Baldwinsville, Katelyn Morrison of Chicago, Illinois, Lauren Morrison of Carpentersville, Illinois, Collin Morrison of Oswego, and Carlee and Jonathan Morrison, of Eagle, Colorado; a niece, Ann Simmonson of Reston, VA; and two nephews, Donald Bearden of Cary, NC, and James Bearden of West Islip, NY. Joan's children and grandchildren would like to thank all of the caring staff at St. Luke Health Services, especially those on the second floor, who helped Joan move to the next step in her life with ease and comfort. At Joan's request, there will be no calling hours. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, in the Faith United Church, Oswego. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Joan has requested that memorial donations be made to the St. Luke John Foster Burden Fund, 299 East River Road, Oswego, NY 13126; or to Riverside Cemetery, for the Page Memorial Chapel, 4024 County Rt. 57, Oswego, NY 13126. Arrangements are in care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
