    • Addie A. Brown - July 5, 1860 - August 9, 1922. Daughter of William Eaton and Prudence Rose Brown. Wife of William Duncan Hardie. Married October 1878. Section 4, Row 4.

Newspaper Obituary - August 23, 1922 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Addie Brown Hardie, the subject of this sketch was born at Port Ontario June 7, 1860, her parents being William Eaton Brown and Prudence Rose. In 1878 she was married to William Hardie and since that time has lived in the Page District, where her death occurred on August 9, 1922, her whole life having been spent in nearly the same community where she was born, with the exception of a short time spent in northern Michigan when she was a young girl. Mrs. Hardie is survived by her husband and son, Roy W. Hardie of Port Ontario, to whom the sympathy of all is extended in their great sorrow. Her sickness of such a short duration that we can not realize that Addie is gone. Quiet and unassuming in her manner, gentle and kind she won and retained the love and esteem of all with whom she came in contact. Essentially a home loving woman, she was seldom far from her home circle, and those who knew her best, loved her most. The funeral was held from the house on August 1 1 th, Rev. William MacLeod of Pulaski officiating at the services. The burial was made in the Daysville cemetery. Mrs. Hardie was a beloved member of the local Home Bureau and among the many beautiful floral tributes at the funeral was one from the members of her unit. Hers was a lovely Christian character, whose influence for good will be felt in the community for many years to come.
