    • Newspaper Obituary - November 26, 1984 Sandy Creek News - Area Deaths - Leona M. Balcom, 93 - Leona M. Balcom, 93, of 7737 North St., Pulaski, died Thursday, Nov. 15 1984 at an Oswego nursing home. Mrs. Balcom was a native of Pulaski. She was a graduate of Pulaski High School and Oswego Normal School. Mrs. Balcom taught school several years in the Pulaski area. Mrs. Balcom was a charter member of Pulaski Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7289 Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Charles A.: two sons, Donald D. of Syracuse and Lyle M. of Pulaski; two daughters Mildred Dawley and Shirley Hort, both of Pulaski; a brother, Noel Lighthall of Pulaski; a sister Laura Dode of Pulaski; six grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, the Rev. Virgil H. Hager officiating. Burial was in the Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours were 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, 7389 Park St., Pulaski.
