Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 24, 1934 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York Old Resident of Richland Passes - The funeral of Jay W. Wyman, 94, lifelong resident of Orwell and Richland, was held yesterday from his late home in Richland, with Rev. Harold H. Barnard, pastor of the Methodist Church of that village officiating. Burial was made in the Richland cemetery. Mr. Wyman died at his home last Saturday evening following an illness of several weeks. In spite of his advanced age, Mr. Wyman kept up an active interest in work about his home, and during the past summer was able to make and care for a small garden. Some years ago he gained considerable distinction is a keeper of bees, and the product of his apiary was considered of excellent quality. Until his advanced age prevented he was Sexton of the Richland cemetery. He was born in the town of Orwell, near Salmon River Falls, February 4, 1839, a son of Erastus and Mary Wyman, and passed his entire life in the two towns. His wife, Florence Myers Wyman, died seven years ago. He is survived by four sons, Eugene and Claude of Sandy Pond; William of Albion, and Sherman of Port Washington; and one brother, Eugene of Richland.
