- Newspaper Obituary - January 1, 2009 Syracuse Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Frances M. Hoenow, 93, of Pulaski, died Friday at St. Luke's in Oswego. Born July 1, 1915, the daughter of George and Anna Obrist Mattison, she was a life resident of the Pulaski and Altmar area. She was married to Otto A. Hoenow, December 26, 1942. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1930, and she graduated from Oswego Normal School in 1933. She later graduated from SUNY Os-wego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965. She was a first-grade elementary school teacher in the Pulaski District for 20 years. She and her husband operated a poultry farm for 30 years. She was a member of Park United Methodist Church, the NYS Teachers Association and the Pulaski Grange #730. Surviving: her husband, Otto A.; one son, Thomas Hoenow of Pulaski; one daughter, Joan A. Hoenow of San Jose, CA; one daughter-in-law, Susan A. Hart of Oswego; one cousin, Irene Tanner of Chaumont; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Stephen P., who died in 1983, and Donald O., who died in 1986. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family, with a spring burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
