Darwin L. Lamb April 13, 2003
Darwin L. Lamb, 83, of Williams Way, formerly of Hamilton, NY, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2003.
Born October 25, 1919, in Hamilton, he was a son of Llewellyn and Hazel Duell Lamb, and was a graduate of Hamilton High School. On January 1, 1940, Darwin was united in marriage to the former Marian Sikes in Morrisville, NY. She predeceased him on March 25, 1999. Mr. Lamb had worked for Gordon Bowers Construction in Cazenovia for 10 years until his retirement. He had previously worked at Colgate University and L.L. Lamb & Sons Farms, both of Hamilton.
Mr. Lamb was a member of the Coudersport Alliance and Missionary Church. He was a former member of the Eaton Community Bible Church where he was a deacon and had held several offices.
Surviving are a daughter, Wilma Sterndale of Coudersport; two sons, Stuart Lamb of Cobleskill, NY, and Wayne Lamb of East Amherst, NY; four brothers, Thomas, Louis, Keith, and Richard Lamb, all of Hamilton; two sisters, Beatrice Little of Hamilton and Phyllis Hanson of Hamburg, NY; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003, from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY, with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Hamilton. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
