    • Newspaper Obituary - August 25, 1966 Syracuse Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Roy Maines Succumbs - Roy H. Maines, 72, of 300 S. Midler Ave., a former engineer for the New York Central Railroad, died yesterday after a long illness. A native of Syracuse, he worked for the railroad 47 years until his retirement in 1959. He was a charter member of the Eastwood Baptist Church, its men's fellowship club and Senior Citizens Club. He was also a member of Onondaga Lodge 802, F&AM, Eastwood Lions Club, Central City Consistory, RAM; Sportsman's Roundtable Club, New York Central Square Club, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers No. 169 and Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers No. 334. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethal Stewart Maines; two brothers Francis of Oswego and Lester Maines; several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m Saturday at the Goddard and Crandall Funeral Home, the Rev. Hugh Miller officiating. Burial will be in Fayetteville Cemetery. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home, 3111 James St.
