- Newspaper Obituary - December 26, 1982 Syracuse Herald Journal - Syracuse, New York - Emma Mae Strait - Mrs. Emma Mae Strait, 73, of 401 Bergner Road, Lakeland, died Friday at her home after a brief illness. A Syracuse native, Mrs. Strait lived for 30 years around the St. Lawrence River and moved to Lakeland more than 30 years ago. She was a member of Fairmont Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She is survived by her husband, Benjamin; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Clement of Lakeland and Mrs. Plamer Wollman; a son, Frederick of Parish; six sisters, Mrs. Secil Brown of Adams, Mrs. Wealthea Pryor of Watertown, Mrs. Doris Maloney of North Syracuse, Mrs. Robert VanAlsein of Florida, Mrs. Clarence Majo of Cape Vincent and Mrs. Aleatha Stewart of Marathon; five brothers, Chester of Watertown, Leland of California, Warren of Pulaski, Calvin of Adams and Melzer McConnell of Mexico; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home, Solvay. Burial will be in Belle Isle Cemetery, Camillus. Calling hours are today 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Ave.
