- Newspaper Obituary - October 26, 1992 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - ARTHUR A. VANRY, 72, ORWELL, DIES - Arthur A. VanRy, 72, Lester Road, died Sunday at his home after a long illness. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Orwell Union Church, with the Rev. Janet B. Gibbs, pastor, officiating. There will be no calling hours. The Taylor-Vida Funeral Home, Pulaski, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Oswego County Hospice, at the H. Douglas Barclay Courthouse, Pulaski. Surviving are his wife, Mae; three sons, Sayles, Warren, and David, all of Orwell; four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Alice) Walker, Foley, Mo., Mrs. Richard (Jacoba) Spearance, Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Thomas (Patricia) Perrine, Virginia Beach, Va., and Dora VanRy, Atlanta, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles, Camden; and several nieces and nephews. A son, John, died July 4, 1991. Born in Utica, Aug. 16, 1920, a son of Henry and Josephine Sayles VanRy, he attended Camden High School. On Sept. 6, 1941, he married Mae Charbonneau in Camden, where they lived until 1960, when they moved to the Sandy Creek-Pulaski area. Mr. VanRy was employed in the retail milk business in Camden and later farmed in Sandy Creek. He was also a salesman for Harvester Farm Equipment and Franklin Chevrolet of Pulaski.
