- Newspapaer Obituary - Wednesday, June 26, 1974 Daily Press -Utica, New York - Clinton - Grover H. Stevens, 58, of Park Road, died Sunday in Hauterive, Province of Quebec, where he was stricken while on a fishing trip. He was born in Plainfield and attended Waterville schools. Mr. Stevens was a fireman and engineer for the Penn Central for 30 years. He married Mary Agnes Russell in 1939 in Clinton. Mr. Stevens attended Central United Methodist Church, the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, past president of the Paris Hill Fish & Game Club and member of the Popular Ridge Fish & Game Club, Wood gate. He served oversees in the Merchant Marine during World War II and later served in the Navy. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters. Mrs. Frank (Barbara) Alessandro and Mrs. James (Diane) Nicotera, both of Utica. The funeral will be at 9:30 Thursday from the Ortner Funeral Home with burial in Waterville Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today.
