- Newspaper Obituary - May 19, 1949 Sandy Creek News - Mrs. Daisy E. Jamerson Dies at Watertown - Mrs. Daisy E. Jamerson, mother of Earl Jamerson, of Sandy Creek, and a former resident of this community, died May 17, 1949 in the Mercy Hospital, Watertown, where she had been a patient for about two weeks. She would have, observed her 75th birthday later this month. She was born May 28, 1874 in Lacona, her parents being the late Henry and Ella Near Allard. The early part of her life was spent in the town of Sandy Creek; and she was married February 22, 1894 to Charles W. Jamerson, son of Wilbur and Harriett Hale Jamerson of Sandy Creek. Mr. Jamerson died February 16, 1912. In 1917 Mrs. Jamerson and their daughter, Dorothy, moved with her parents to Watertown where she resided until about seven years ago when she went to reside with her daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Jamerson Eckford, near Adams. - Surviving Relatives - In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Gordon Eckford, Mrs. Jamerson is survived by her son, Earl Jamerson of Sandy Creek; one granddaughter, Mrs. Willis Jones of Rome; three great grandchildren; one niece, Mrs. Marian Palermo of Albany, and a nephew, Clayton Allard, who lives in the State of Washington. Mrs. Jamerson was a member of Asbury Methodist church and of Watertawn and of the Women's Society of Christian Science. She was a past president of the Women's Relief Corps, and member of the Daughters of Union Veterans, Watertown, and a former member of Sandy Creek Grange. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock' at the Northam and Fox undertaking parlors, corner of Sterling and Franklin Streets, Watertown, with burial services in Woodlawn cemetery, Sandy Creek, at about 3:30 that afternoon, Rev. Dr. George H. McClung, pastor of Asbury Methodist church, will officiate at the service in Watertown, and Rev. Selden Ward, pastor of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, will have charge of the service at Woodlawn, cemetery.
