    • Went into rest on September 15, 2016 with family by his side. Beloved son of the late Harvey and Thelma Thiel. Beloved husband of 61 years to Carol Thiel. Loving father of Tracy Lubeck (John), Kelly Thiel, Tim Thiel (Denise), and the late Gordon Thiel (Ellen). Survived by his brother Harvey Thiel (Denise). Predeceased by his sister Ethel Ulrich. Loving grandpa to ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and newphews.
      Gordon was a Korean War Veteran and a longtime member of American Legion Post #665, Buffalo Troop I and the American Legion Post #410 in Lockport, NY. He retired from GM Chevrolet Tonawanda plant after 20 years of service.
      The family will be present at the Bates Wallace and Heath Funeral Home 38 State Street Middleport, NY 14411 on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM to receive family and friends, a Funeral Service will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 11AM, family and friends invited.
