- December 23, 2005 Herbert O. Manwaring, 83, of Kirtland, OH, for the past 42 years, died Friday, December 23, 2005, at Heartland of Mentor, Ohio. He was born December 22, 1922, in Pulaski, NY. Mr. Manwaring had retired from G.E. as an engineer after 35 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, was a crossing guard for the Kirtland school system, had an ice delivery service in Pulaski, was a volunteer fireman for the Ringgold F.D. in Pulaski, was a member of Masonic Lodge #415 in Pulaski as well as a 53-year member of the Masons. Survivors include his children, Herbert "Butch" W. (Diane) Manwaring of Sandy Creek, NY; Terry G. Manwaring of Kirtland, OH; Marcia L. Manwaring of Mooreland Hills, OH; Christine M. (John) Regrut of Columbus, OH; Dee (Chad) Bassett of Kirtland, OH; and Daniel C. (Renee) Manwaring; son-in-law, Sam Hawk; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, June Jordal; brothers: Arnold (Rosie) Manwaring, Robert J. (Cathy) Manwaring and Roland Manwaring, all of NY; special friend and neighbor, Amanda. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Lucy Hawk; a grandson; and brothers: Lewis, Raymond and Donald. Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at South Kirtland Cemetery, Kirtland. Please meet at the cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH.
