    • Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, August 06, 1975 Sandy Creek News - Dorothy M. Eckford Age 76, Succumbs - Mrs. Dorothy M. Eckford, 76, wife of Gordon Eckford, Route 11 South, Adams, was pronounced dead on arrival at the House of the Good Samaritan apparently after suffering a heart attack at her home on Monday. She was taken to the hospital by South Jefferson Rescue. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 11 at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Rev. Virgil Hager, Pastor of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek. Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 today, Wednesday. Mrs. Eckford is survived by her husband by one niece, Mrs. Helen Jones, Rome, N.Y. and cousins. She was born Nov. 2, 1898 near Sandy Creek, the daughter of Charles and Daisy Allard Jamerson. She graduated from Sandy Creek High School. She married Gordon Eckford, in October, 1940 at Alexandria Bay. Since 1941, the couple has resided in their present home. Mrs. Eckford was a member of the United Methodist Church and various women's organizations of the church. She was also a member of Cecelia Chapter O.E.S.
