    • Newspaper Obituary - September 4, 1946 Sandy Creek News - Mrs. Lewis Orton, 56 Expires in Hospital - Mrs. Lillian Orton, 56, wife of Lewis Orton of Richland, died Saturday, August 24, 1946 in Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, where she had been a patient for 10 days. She had been ill about six weeks. Services were held in the Richland Methodist church at 2pm Tuesday by Rev. Harold H. Barnard of Carthage, former pastor of the Richland church. Burial was in Richland Cemetery. She was born in Richland, daughter of Wilmont, and Sarah Shoecraft Joslyn and had made her home in the vicinity most of her life. Besides her husband she is survived by five children, Robert of Lorraine, O.; Raymond Van Buren, Richland; Mrs. Leah Grace Miller, Brooklyn; and Charles and Edward Orton of Richland; a sister, Miss Delia Mae Josyln of Oil Spring, Ky; and a brother , William Josyln, and eight grandchildren.
