Newspaper Obituary - Monday, March 27, 1972 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Richland Woman Dies at 47 ¬Pulaski - Miss Dorothy M. Tilkins, 47, Richland, died Sunday morning in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, where she had been a patient two weeks. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Rev. Edwin A. Potter, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be later in Richland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Surviving are her father, Lewis Tilkins, Porterville, California; four brothers, Robert J., Butler, Pennsylvania, Richard E., serving with the Navy in Middletown, Rhode Island, Ronald A., Baltimore. Maryland, John E., Richland; four sisters, Mrs. Grant (Norma) Wilson, Pulaski, Mrs. Joseph (Eileen) Skotnicki, Mrs. Walter (Bonita) Salisbury and Mrs. Edward (Mary) Bielewicz, all of Richland, and nieces and nephews. Born March 12, 1925, in the Town of Orwell, daughter of Lewis and Florence Brown Tilkins, she attended Pulaski Academy. After high school she was employed with Rome Cable Company, Rome. Later, she moved to Syracuse, where she was employed with the McMillan Book Store until two years ago, when she retired because of illness.
