- Joseph Zesky, 79, of East Syracuse, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010, at home after a short illness. Born in Syracuse, he was a retired plumber and a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 267. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the Red & White Club and East Syracuse Lions Club. He enjoyed polka dancing and helping family and friends. He fulfilled his longtime dream of becoming an altar server and a Eucharistic minister. Survivors: his wife of 53 years, Jean (Woodworth) Zesky; five daughters, Kathryn Mitchell of East Syracuse, Sandra (Dean) Baker of East Syracuse, Mary (Michael) Pettitt of Virginia Beach, VA, Patricia DelPriore of Minoa and Donna (Patrick) Krzykowski of Lakeland; one son, Joseph (Theresa) of Central Square; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Services: 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Forani & Cline Funeral Home, 206 Kinne Street, East Syracuse, followed by a 10 a.m. service in St. Matthew's Church in East Syracuse. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Dewitt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 3, at the funeral home. Contributions: Hospice or St. Matthew's Food Pantry.
