  Dr. Roger Cook, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2016 at the Oswego Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. From his birth in Parish, NY on February 13, 1932 to his death, he endeared himself to those around him by his deep faith, gentle nature, witty humor, physical strength and endless compassion. Roger was born to Charles and Irene Cook and attended school in Parish where he excelled in scholastics and multiple sports. He graduated Andrews University with a Math & Science degree and a finance', Darlene Brenneman. They married August 31, 1951 and left for Medical School at Loma Linda University. Son, Charles (Chuck) was born in 1957 and daughter, Charene (Chary) in 1958. Roger served in the Navy Medical Corps and was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for 2 years. They settled in Fulton, NY in 1962 and began Private Practice in Oswego, NY. Roger also regularly assisted in surgery at Oswego Hospital and later served as Medical Director for three local nursing homes, retiring in 1994. He was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist church, enjoyed woodworking and travel, but his greatest joy was his family. Roger was predeceased by Darlene, beloved wife of 58 years. Roger remarried in 2014 and is survived by his beloved wife Donna Jenson. Roger is also survived by son: Charles (Denise) Cook, daughter: Chary (Francis) Hicks, 5 step children, 4 granddaughters, 3 great grandchildren, brothers: Darwin Cook, Marvin Cook and sister: Eleanor Kinney and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend gratitude to the staff at Oswego Hospital for their attentiveness and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Roger's name to Fulton SDA Church. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 25th at Fulton Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 45 W. 4th Street, Fulton, NY 13069.
