    • Newspaper Obituary - September 4, 1946 Sandy Creek News - Stewart Funeral Held - Funeral services for Frank L. Stewart, who died August 20, 1946 in the town of Lorraine, were held at 2pm Thursday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stewart of Lacona. Rev. Herbert Harrison, pastor of Sandy Creek Methodist church officiated. Burial was in the Richland Cemetery. Surviving besides his parents are two brothers, Warren and Howard, Jr. both of Lacona and two sisters, Mrs. Dora Presley of Lacona and Mrs. Gertrude Peterson of Pulaski. Mr. Stewart, who was 37, was found dead in his car on the Adams road in the town of Lorraine by Ruth and Orlo E. Barden. An inquest resulted in finding the cause of death to have been suicide from carbon monoxide.

      Newspaper Obituary - September 11, 1946 Sandy Creek News - Man Ends Life by Gas in Car - Frank Lavel Stewart, 37, town of henderson, was found dead in his car in the Gould District, town of Lorraine, by Orlo Barden at 9:30 Monday morning, Aug 19 1946. Dr. Douglas Adams fave verdict of suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. He had been dead 10 hours when found. Stewart was slumped over the steering wheel. The motor was still running and a section of hose was found connected from the exhaust pipe to an opening in the floor boards of the car. Stewart lived alone as a tenant farmer on the Fred Kepner farm about a mile from Henderson. Funeral services were held at his sister's home in Lacona. Frank Lavel Stewart was born June 13, 1909 in Richland, son of Mr and Mrs. Howard Stewart. Surviving besides his parents are two sisters and two brothers, Mrs Raymond Presley (Dora) of Lacona: Mrs. Gertrude Peterson, Pulaski: Warren Stewart, Mansville: Howard R. Stewart, Lacona. Burial was in Richland Cemetery.
