- Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, September 8, 1976 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Roy A. Pickett, 77, of Lot Ten Road, Palermo, Central Square R.D. 2, died on August 31 at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton where he had been a patient for 10 days, He was born on August 24, 1899 at Watertown the son of Lester and Mary Sickler Pickett. He attended Watertown schools and was later married to Mildred Look at Watertown in 1935. She died in 1953 at the couple's home in Ellisburg. He married Mrs. Julia Kryger Smith in 1961. Mr. Pickett was employed for several years by the New York Airbrake Company of Watertown and by Queens Dairy at Pierrepont Manor. In 1961 he retired from the Corse Press at Sandy Creek. Surviving besides his wife are: three sons, Robert R. of Central Square, Ronald L., a missionary serving in Brazil, and David H. of Pen Argyle, Pennsylvania, two daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Beuhla) Bellville of Lacona, Mrs. Lewis (Beryle) Carter of Central Square; three step-sons, Lewis Smith of Cortland, John Smith of Freeville and Edwin Smith of Kingsport, Tennessee; one step-daughter, Mrs. Robert (Emma) Ingraham of Whitney Point; 17 grandchildren and 19 step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 3 at 1 p.m. at the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Syracuse with the Rev. Denzil Smith, Pastor, officiating. Funeral arrangements were made by the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Burial was held in Richland Cemetery.
