    • Newspaper Obituary - October 6, 2004 Post-Standard - Syracuse, NY - Bruce Stewart Wright October 4, 2004 - Dr. Bruce Wright, 75, of Brewerton, died Monday after many years of illness, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a native of Syracuse, educated at Syracuse University. He worked as a staff member at Lederle Labs, Upjohn, Pfizer, Hazelton Labs and Bionetics as a virologist and retired from the FDA in Washington. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Sherley (Reistrom) Wright; and children, Debra J. (Clyde) Perry and grandchildren Jason and Chris of VA, a son David B. Wright of VA, daughter Sharon (Robert) Williams and grandchildren Melissa and Elizabeth of NC; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was noted in Who's Who of America for his work in virology, and was active in Y Indian Guides, Memorial Fund Drive for the Girl Scouts, member of American Association Cancer Research, American Society Microbiology, A.A.A.S., Sigma XI, Pi-Sigma, and also published articles in the Scientific Professional Journal and the Yearbook of Cancer and Scientific America. Funeral services will be held Thursday at noon at the Harter Funeral Home, 9525 South Main Street, Brewerton. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Brewerton United Methodist Church, PO Box 879, Brewerton, NY 13029.
