  Obituary for Darwyn L. Cook In Loving Memory Darwyn L. Cook June 16, 2023 Darwyn L. Cook, of Parish, NY; passed away on the morning of June 16, 2023. Born February 27, 1935, to Charles and Irene Cook, Darwyn was a lifelong resident of Parish, NY. Darwyn was a graduate of APW high school. Darwyn drove truck for most of his career putting in millions of miles across the country he loved. He ran two successful small business between driving stints, and finally settled on drive as an independent contractor for FedEx where he remained for twenty years. Darwyn was a lifetime tinkerer. He left his sons with the mechanical skill to fix anything mechanical that came their way. They earned plenty of experience working on small engines for Parish Sports Center, Darwyn’s snowmobile/lawn mower business. He also had a love of old cars and motorcycles, including a full dresser HD and Kawasaki Voyageur and many stories about his gold Cadillac he had as a kid. Darwyn was predeceased by his beloved spouse Carol Cook in May 2022. They had been married since married August 27, 1965. Darwyn is survived by his sons Edmund Palmer (Lorena), John Palmer (Jean), Darwyn Cook (Joann), eleven grandchildren, and a whole passel of great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023 from Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Parish, NY. Interment will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish, NY. Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ellisburg, NY.
