- Newspaper Obituary - March 4, 2008 Post-Standard - Syracuse, NY - Rhea W. LaVeck February 18, 2008 - Rhea W. LaVeck, 93, of Pulaski, died Monday, February 18, at the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany. She was born November 5, 1914, in Syracuse and graduated from Eastwood High School in 1929. Rhea resided in Pulaski from 1933 to 2001, when she moved to Oriskany. She married Marion E. LaVeck in 1935; he died May 13, 1948. She received her bachelor's degree from Oswego State Teachers College in 1954 and received her master's degree from Crane School of Music at Potsdam in 1959. Rhea was employed at Pulaski Academy High School from 1948 to 1975, where she taught music. She also worked at Ricard and Williamstown. She was a member of Pulaski Congregational Church, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #159 and past Grand Matron of NYS OES, former Oswego County Woman of the Year and played organ at many churches in the Pulaski area. Surviving: four sons, David J. LaVeck of Liverpool, Philip T. of Canton, MI, James W. of Henderson, NV, and Steven H. of Bambury, Oxford, United Kingdom; one brother, Tracy H. Wilder Jr. of San Luis Obispo, CA; one sister, Carolyn Moran of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at a time to be announced, with burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Arrangements are with Foster- Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
