      Cecilia R. Mere, 103, formerly of 2 Pratt Place, died at 8:40 a.m. Friday in Highland Nursing Home.

      Mrs. Mere was a homemaker and a tutor.

      Born Nov. 22, 1897, in Huntingdon, Quebec, daughter of Victor and Louise LaFrance LeDuc, she married Emery H. Mere on Aug. 6, 1923, at St. Joseph's Church, Huntingdon. He died Dec. 5, 1968.

      She enjoyed playing card games, shopping and playing the accordion.

      Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Armond and Margarette, Newark; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Margaret and Maurice Brodeur, Hudson, Fla., Yvette and Arlington Ploof, Chase Mills, and Alice Brodeur, Richland; 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and several great-great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

      A son, John, four brothers and three sisters died before her.

      A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Sacred Heart with the Rev. Donald J. Manfred officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

      Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Phillips Memorial Home.

      Donations may be made to Trinity Catholic Endowment Fund.
