      Gordon E. Ridgway Sr., 97, of 104 McLennan Drive, Fayetteville, died Tuesday at Loretto Geriatric Center.

      A native of Barnegat, N.J., he lived in Fayetteville 46 years. He retired in 1963 as an electrical engineer with Syracuse University.

      He was a 1929 graduate of Syracuse University and a member of DeWitt Community Church. He was a World War I veteran with the Army Corp of Engineers. He was a member of Oswego Lodge 127 F&AM and the Men's Garden Club of Syracuse.

      His first wife, Maida M., died in 1979.

      Surviving are his wife, Betty of Syracuse; a son, Gordon Jr. of Phoenix; two granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

      Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home, the Rev. Edwin Taylor officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.

      Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville.

      Contributions may be made to DeWitt Community Church or the Men's Garden Club of Syracuse.
