    • Newspaper Obituary - Friday, July 20, 2001 Time Leader - Rita R. Kane - Rita R. Kane, 75, of Zerby Avenue, Edwardsville, died Wednesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Sarah (Tasco) Kennedy. She was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston, serving as Eucharistic minister and lector, and was coordinator of volunteers at Volunteers for Literacy at Hoyt Library, Kingston. She was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Kennedy. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, James; daughters, Mary Sabol, Pringle; Kathy Merrifield, Lower Burrell; Eileen Capece, Conyngham; Patricia Green, Brigantine, N.J.; son, James, Ladson, S.C.; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandsons; sister, Mary Kashner; and brother, Edward Kennedy, both of Glen Burnie, Md. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
