Melfi, 78, of 101 Cleveland St.,Liverpool,died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. He was born in Syracuse . He retired in 1987 after 38 years with Kilian Manufacturing, Syracuse . He was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Liverpool- Syracuse Lodge 501 F&AM, Liverpool American Legion Post 188 and Marine Corps League. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 53 years, June "Marion"; two sons, Robert of Michigan and Richard of Liverpool; a sister, Dorothea Dyer of Tully; a brother, William of Groton; four grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Maurer Funeral Home. Burial, Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 300 Second St., Liverpool. Masonic services at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Contributions: Boy Scouts of America.
