- Newspaper Obituary - February 1, 1992 Post Standard - Former Phoenix resident Stanley P. Narewski, 80, died Friday in Tampa, Fla. A native of Syracuse, Mr. Narewski also lived in Phoenix before moving to Zephyrhills, Fla., in 1981. He retired in 1975 as a conductor from the Penn Central Railroad. During his 48-year career in railroading, Mr. Narewski also was employed with the New York Central Railroad. Mr. Narewski was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Zephyrhills, and a former member of St. Stephen's Church in Phoenix and its Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, the National Association of Retired Veteran Employees and the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Richardson; two sons, Allen of Phoenix and Jan of Pennellville; two brothers, Chester of Fulton and William of Syracuse; three sisters, Hattie Kowalski of Baldwinsville, Frances Kaczmarczyk of Syracuse and Helen Mascette of Solvay; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix, and 9:30 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, the Rev. James C. Fritzen officiating. Spring burial will be in Phoenix Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 919 Main St.
