- John Obleman - November 30, 1854 - April 17, 1923. Son of Miles and Catherine Patchette Obleman. Husband of Nancy Catherine Suits Obleman.
Newspaper Obituary - April 25, 1923 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - John Obleman passed away at his home in Richland, Tuesday evening April 17 at 11:30 after several weeks' illness. He was the eldest son of the late Miles and Catherine Obleman. He was born in Tamworth, Canada, November 30th, 1853 and came to Oswego county when a young man, residing here most of the time since. Besides his widow, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Belle Richardson of Richland, four sons, Christopher, John, H. Samuel of Richland, Miles E of Lacona, eight grandchildren, Charles Nelson, Emma, and William Obleman, May and Esther Richardson, Robert Obleman of Lacona; Mrs. Blanche Wiesenberger, one great grandchild, Dorothy Wiesenberger, two sisters, Mrs. Kate Pope of Sauquoit and Mrs. Charlotte Scanton of Nixon, Pennsylvania; five brothers, Joseph of Utica, Miles of Niagara Falls, Alec of Enterprise Canada, George and James. The funeral was held at Christ Church, Richland, Thursday, at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. C. A. Robinson. The I. 0. 0. F. conducted services at the grave. Mr. Obleman was a charter member of Spring Brook Lodge, I. 0. 0. F., No. 645. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Jos Obleman, Utica; Alexander, Obleman, Enterprise, Ontario; Mrs. Maria Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones, Rome; Mrs. William Moot, Schenectady; Mrs. Peter Lane and Mrs. James Lavene, Amsterdam; Mrs. Laura Gratton, of Syracuse; Mrs. Charles Nichols, Three Mile Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Miles Obleman and son, Robert, Lacona.
