- Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 22, 1908 Oswego Daily Times - Oswego, New York - Frank L. McLaughlin - Oswego Town - April 20. - On April 14, 1908, there passed from our midst amid all the bright beauty of spring one who will be missed by all who knew him. Fred L. McLaughlin was born in Oswego Town, March 27, 1873. About two months ago he was taken ill which developed into a complication of diseases which resulted in his death. He was a member of Phillips's Cornet Band of Oswego, the I. O. O. F. of S. W. Oswego and the Railroad Aid Society of the Oswego shops. Fred was a kind and loyal neighbor always ready to lend a helping hand to all. He was employed at the N. Y. C. shops for many years. We often wonder why those so eminently fitted to live are compelled to yield their lives so early in the struggle but God knows best and we must bow in submission. Among the floral tributes was a beautiful cross from his shop mates and beautiful flowers from the band. He is survied by his wife Blanche M. McLaughlin, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McLaughlin, four brothers, William, Jesse and Cleveland of this place and Joseph of Pulaski, N. Y., also three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Phillips of Town Line, Mrs. Laura Cronk of Pulaski, N.Y., and Anna Belle of this place. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community. The funeral was held from the M. E. Church Oswego Center, April 17 at 2 o'clock. Interment Rural Cemetery.
