Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, March 24, 1927 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Lambs Corner Resident Dies Suddenly - Mrs. Charles A. Filkins, 59, for 10 years a resident of this town and formerly of Sandy Creek, died suddenly Tuesday morning at the family home, two miles east of Mexico. She was born in Sandy Creek, February 17, 1868, and until 10 years ago had spent her entire life in the town of Sandy Creek. She was a member of Parish Grange and is survived by her husband, four sons, Leon F., of Amboy, Onondaga county, Bert, Mexico; Newton, of Fairmount, and Harold, of Mexico; four daughters, Mrs. George Burto, Frankfort; Mrs. John Winks, of Palermo; Mrs. Burt Nichols, of Pulaski, and Miss Rose Filkins of Mexico; one brother, Frank Robbins, of Boylston, and two sisters, Mrs. James Doneburg of Lacona, and Mrs. Pitt Barker of Sandy Creek. Last rites will be held to-day, Thursday, at her late home at Lambs Corners at one o'clock. Rev. William Lacey, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Parish officiating. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery near Pulaski.
