    • Eileen Monica Akers Stramel, 87, of Rileyville, died on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at Winchester Medical Center. She was born on Oct. 10, 1920 in Parish, N. Y. and was a daughter of the late William Vanett and Hazel Henderson Nurse. Mrs. Akers retired as a secretary for Warren County Schools, where she worked for a number of years. She was a member of the Luray Seventh-day Adventist Church. On Nov. 25, 1959, she married Charles Thomas Akers, who died on Dec. 25, 1994. Surviving in addition to second husband of 11 years, Adam Stramel, are a son, Charles Thomas Akers Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif; two daughters, Helen Bueno of Lake Tahoe, Nev., and Darlene Lejarraga of San Diego, Calif.; and three brothers, William W. Nurse of North Port, Fla., Vernon H. Nurse of Cape Coral, Fla., and Jerom B. Nurse of Mexico, N.Y. A private burial was held at Culpeper National Cemetery.
