    • Rev. Emerson John Waterstripe - August 23, 1883 - October, 1965. Son of John and Mary Waterstripe. Husband of Alice Pearl Lister Waterstripe (married 1903) & Jessie Waterstripe (married 1945.)

      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 21, 1965 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Former Richland Minister is Dead - Word was received October 5, 1965 of the death of the Rev. E. J. Waterstripe, 82, of Shickshinney, Pennsylvania, in the Nesbitt Hospital at Kingston, Pennsylvania, where he had been a patient since August when he suffered a stroke. His son, B. J. Waterstripe of Pulaski, survives with his wife, Bessie, whom he married in 1945; two daughters, Mrs. Janet Sprague and Mrs. Harold (Clair Mae) Britt, both of Sweet Valley, Pennsylvania, and a son, Glenn of Oregon. Rev. Waterstripe came to Richland in 1917 from Missouri to serve as pastor of the Church of Christ for about seven years. After about a year as pastor at the Avis, Pennsylvania Church of Christ, he moved to Sweet Valley, Pennsylvania, where he was pastor for over 25 years.
