    • December 8, 1901 ~ Charlotte D. Smith, age 72 years, Widow, born in New York, Daughter of Thomas W. Dixson born in New York, and Mary Pratt Dixson, Died in Pulaski of pernicious anemia.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, December 11, 1901 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Charlotte Smith - Mrs. Charlotte Dixson, widow of the late Justin Smith, died at the home of her son, Mr. George D. Smith, Sunday morning. Mrs. Smith was born in Paris, Oneida County, seventy-two years ago and moved to this village with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Dixson, over sixty years ago. Mrs. Smith has been very active and in her relations with friends and neighbors she has made a place which will make her life remembered and her goodness unforgotten. She was a member of the Congregational church and an active member of Pulaski Grange, holding the office of chaplain up to last year, for several terms. She has been in failing health for the past year and died of consumption of the blood. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Charles Hill, two sons, Messrs. George D. and Fred J. Smith, all of this village. The funeral was held yesterday at two o'clock, Rev. J. B. Felt officiating. He read Psalms, which were especially precious to Mrs. Smith in her last hours and Mrs. Frederick A. Clark rendered "Nearer My God to Thee" accompanied by Miss Bertha Holmes, as organist.
