    • Newspaper Obituary - August 18, 1949 Sandy Creek News - Orin I. Brown, 75 Dies in Sandy Creek - Orin I. Brown, 75, a life long resident of Sandy Creek, died Friday, August 12, 1949 at 5am at the home of his sister, Anna Brown. Mr. Brown had been in failing health for several years but had been confined to bed since April. Funeral services were held from the Weston and Woodard funeral hom Sunday afternoon, August 14, at 2 with Rev. Selden H. Ward, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sandy Creek, officiating. Burial was made in Woodlawn cemetery in Sandy Creek. Orin I. Brown was born September 10, 1873 at Mannsville, the son of Ferrendez J. and Leonora Cook Brown. He was educated in Sandy Creek schools. on June 3, 1899 he married Miss Nettie Nemier of Sandy Creek, Mrs. Brown died April 26, 1938. Mr. Brown was a carpenter by trade; a member of the First Baptist Church; and for many years was a member of the Sandy Creek Fire Department. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Glenn Chamberlain, Lacona; a son, Gerald, Ogdensburg; his sister, Anna of Sandy Creek; two grandchildren Robert Brown, Ogdensburg and Robert Chamberlain, Lacona; also a niece and nephews.
