    • Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, September 10, 1998 Genesee County Express - VIVIAN R. DIMON - Vivian R. Dimon. 83. of 236 Main St., Dansville passed away. Fri. afternoon Sept. 4,1998, at Strong Memorial Hospital. Rochester, following a long illness. Born in Phoenix. NY. on Oct. 1. 1914 the daughter of Vernon and Gertrude Bently Thompson She was married on April 8. 1935 to John C. Dimon who survives. Vivian graduated from Phoenix Central School class of 1933. She was employed at Phoenix Central School retiring as the head cook in 1976 after twenty seven years of service. After retirement she and her husband. John, moved to Florida returning to Dansville five years ago to be close to her daughter Mary Jane (Sheldon) Ford of Ml Morris. A member of the Phoenix United Methodist Church. Vivian was the Past Matron of the Evelyn Wood Court of Amaranth. Past Noble Grand of the Golden Crest Rebekahs and a member of the Phoenix Order of the Eastern Star, all of Phoenix. She belonged to the Oswego Chapter of the Daughters of the Union Soldiers and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also the first president of the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. While in Dansville. she became a member of the Kate J Jackson Court of Amaranth, the Stony Brook Rehekahs and the Deborah Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving in addition to her devoted husband, John and her daughter Mary Jane is her son. Dr. Carl A. (Susan) Dimon of Grand Prairie, Tex.; a brother, John (Betty) Thompson of Phoenix; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a nephew. Friends may call Sat., Sept. 12. from 1 - 4 at the Hindle Funeral Horne, 271 Main St., Dansville where a Memorial Service will be held at the completion of calling hours. Memorial services by the Amaranth will be held in the funeral home at 3 p.m. followed by the Rehekahs at 3:30. A committal service will tie held. Mon.. Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. in Phoenix Rural Cemetery. Phoenix. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, c/o Kate J. Jackson. Court of the Amaranth. 68 Elizabeth St. or the Dansville Ambulance Fund.
