Notes - Newspaper Obituary - Saturday Evening February 10, 1962 Daily Sentinel - Rome, New York - H. J. Pulver Dies at 72 - Williamstown - Howard J. Pulver, 72, died suddenly at his home this morning. He was born in South Butler, New York, May 16, 1889, some of Sherman and Phoebe Beach Pulver. He and Hazel Wyman were married July 27, 1914, at the home of her parents in Richland. Mr. Pulver was station agent for the New York Central Railroad at Brewerton for 10 years and later at Williamstown until this was closed. He later was assigned to Camden, retiring because of poor health. Some years ago he was issued a lifetime gold pass by the railroad for long years of service. Mr. Pulver was a member of the Williamstown Federated Church, past master of Amboy Lodge, F.&A.M., member of Darius Chapter, Camden; Rotica Council, Rome; Rome Commandery Media Temple, Watertown; Western Shrine Club of Oneida, life member of the Williamstown volunteer fire department. He also had served as a tax collector for the Town of Williamstown and also on the Williamstown Board of Education. He is survived by his wife, a son, Charles Howard Pulver, Vestal; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Thelma) Kessler, Afton, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Francis Doerschug, pastor of the Federal Church, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home today 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
